Born in Jamaica of Chinese heritage, Joanne has worked in various mediums including photography, weaving and pottery. Her painting began as a decoration for her pottery, but it was not until she discovered Chinese Brush Painting that she was able to incorporate her art with her love of flowers and gardening, inherent from growing up on a tropical island. Chinese Brush Painting captures the spirit and vitality of nature through quick and spontaneous but bold lines and strokes of the brush. Ink and colors are applied in one swift stroke.
