Portia La Touche

Portia La Touche began studying Chinese Brush Painting in 1982 as a ceramic artist working in Asian style porcelains. She has continued to study Brush Painting as well as watercolors, as she loves the immediacy of water media. Inspiration comes from classic Japanese and Chinese works of art and from the endless wonders in nature.

In 2013 Portia won Best Of Show at the American Artists of Chinese Brush Painting. She has exhibited her paintings at the Bruno Levin Gallery, San Diego Botanic Garden, San Diego Fair (winning Second Place and Honorable Mentions), three Hera Hub galleries, and at the 2014 Sumi-e Society of America National Exhibition.  Most recently she coordinated an exhibition for the CBPS at the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum and showed two paintings.
