After visiting Japan as a
teenager, Nina began a lifelong appreciation of Japanese and Chinese brush
painting. She has studied sumi-e with Sensei Takashi Ijichi since 2001. Nina
was awarded teacher status in 2010, and served as President of the Friends of
Taka Sumi-e from 2013-2015. Recently, Nina has joined Lung Hsiang and the
Chinese Brush Painting Society.
She has exhibited at the
Friends of Taka Sumi-e shows, Mission Trails Regional Park, and the Del Mar
Fair, receiving third Prize in 2008.
Sumi-e, she believes, unites the spirit, mind, heart, hand and brush
into a spontaneous, yet disciplined art creation.
